Taking up nearly a quarter of all land in most cities, it is incumbent upon a great street to establish a sense of place and identity that speaks to the values of the community through which it passes.  The mission is to find the perfect balance between mobility and placemaking.  Ultimately, a successful street network will make safe, easy, and comfortable mobility possible—for all modes—as well as create a public realm that fosters pride and promotes investment in the community.  Bold and visionary thinking—paired with technical expertise—must be employed to find the best solution for the community.
