The 30 station shooting clay course at the Clark County Shooting Complex sits on approximately 80 acres of native desert along the northern foothills of the Las Vegas Valley. The course was designed with minimal disruption to the native desert. Large naturally formed mounds were designed between the stations to provide protection from stray shot from the adjacent station. Native Joshua trees, Mohave Yucca and Barrel Cactus accent the mounds and the stations.  Other native shrubby species were planted to bring the disturbed areas back to their native condition. The plants were all planted without permanent irrigation and will be able to live off of natural rainfall once established. The stations were individually laid out by walking the site and assessing the best orientation. The trail followed the natural contours of the land as closely as possible to minimize disturbance to the flora, fauna and drainage.
